Three Way crossover 400Hz/3KHz
Custom three way crossover.
This is a custom crossover, design to have 2 x 15" or 18" woofers on the LF. The crossover has 2 LF outputs, each LF output is for an 8 ohm woofer. To balance the sound, you should use TWO woofers. The LF/MF crossover is 1st order, at approximately 400Hz. It is not recommended to use 4 ohm woofers with this crossover.
The crossover was designed using the Beyma 8MC500Nd, this can be substituted for another mid driver with similar sensitivity. A low sensitivity woofer will result in a dull mid band.
The HF section has a crossover point of approximately 3-4 KHz, using a nonstandard configuration to apply some equalisation to the response. This is to counteract a peak in the response of the DE254TN, this peak causes the output to be around 10dB higher between 2khz and 5khz. A first order crossover provides 12dB attenuation per octave, so at around 2kHz, the DE254TN has been attenuated to approximately the same volume as the Mid driver - rebalancing the overall tone.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS CROSSOVER WITH ANY OTHER HF DEVICE - IT IS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE DE254TN
